Our workshops are held at the Renaissance Hotel, 933 Skokie Blvd, Northbrook IL.  

Beginner Workshop 1-3PM, Entry Fee: $25

In these classes, students learn the chess pieces, how they move, how to checkmate, 2 very special moves (castling, en passant), opening principals, and the concept of fork, pin and skewer. Some hands-on exercises will be used to reinforce concepts. 

Intermediate/Advanced Workshop 2-hour sessions 1-3PM, 4-hour session 1-5PM, Entry Fee:  2 hrs $30,  4 hrs $50

In these classes, students are exposed to games from some of the greatest chess players in history. With the games, basic ideas are explored as well as tactics, strategies, brilliant checkmates, the Center, and the weakest square on the board. The remainder of the class is devoted to play, with the instructor spending time observing each game and offering individualized advice. There is a wealth of knowledge, excitement, and fun to be had in this class.
