The sixth Third Coast Challenge chess tournament was held by the Renaissance Knights at the University of Chicago's cozy Quadrangle Club on one of the coldest days of the year. Everybody played four games with a 60 minute time control. The tournament was a resounding success, drawing 59 players in three sections; Open, Under 1600, and Under 1000. University of Chicago chess team top board, Jeremy Kane, tied with Isaac Hagerling for first place in the Open with 3.5 points. Jordan Cohen won the Under 1600 with a perfect 4.0 score and George Saad, playing in only his fourth rated tournament, won the Under 1000 with 3.5 points.  Other college players were William Blackman from Chicago State University and Andrew Hubbard from the University of Maryland.  Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to all who played.
