SUMMER CAMPS COMMUNITY EVENTS

Through our Summer programs we operates multi-day chess camps throughout the Chicagoland area during school breaks. The camp days are typically 6 - 8 hours long but many camps also offer a half-day option.

Camps offer students the opportunity to learn in-depth with other campers at the same level while having a fun time. Activities include lessons, mini-tournaments, simultaneous exhibitions, study famous games of Grandmasters, and students are awarded completion certificates.

Our Community Programs brings the benefits of chess to local libraries, community centers, and other locations by utilizing chess as a teaching tool to improve children’s’ academic performance and develop positive life skills in safe social setting that is ideal for the full realization of chess’ educational and developmental benefits.  Future goals for the outreach program to to have Chicago High School students participating in our Apprenticeship Program teaching chess throughout Chicago at local facilities.

Renaissance Knights has partnered with the City of Chicago to provide chess activities as part of The Taste of Chicago, Mayor Daley's Holiday Sports Festival, and at other festivals.  We also have partnered with The African Festival of the Arts, Chicago Toy and Games Festival, Six Corners Association and many more community organizations.
